Rosen M Sacro Occipital Technique [Technique Overview by Matthew McCoy “The Adjustment”] The American Chiropractor Mar 2001; 23(3): 26,31, 34.
Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) was discovered and developed by Major Bertrand DeJarnette, who began his career as an engineer. Discussed are his publications with an introduction to the category system of analysis. In SOT, the premise is to peel off the layers of distortion to uncover the causative subluxation pattern and remove it. SOT is a multidimensional technique whose practitioners utilize cavitation-producing maneuvers to affect segmental subluxations; they look at posture, and may use reflex type adjustments to reduce subluxation.
